I just found out that there might be a reboot in the making for MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE. As most of you remember Jon played the part of Duncan, Man-At-Arms in the 1987 film also starring Dolph Lungren, Frank Langella, Chelsea Field, Meg Foster, Billy Barty, Robert Duncan McNeill, Christina Pickles, and someone else whose name I cannot remember…. Anyway, here’s a video from the Youtube show AMC Theatres Mail Bag talking about the possibility.

Another blast from the past in terms of Jon’s episodic television roles. This time it’s from BONANZA where Jon played the part of a Confederate soldier name Col. Cody Ransom. The episode was about the Cartwrights coming to the aid of Jon’s character whose men had been fugitives after the Civil War has ended. The plot involved Washington’s desire to allow Ransom and his men to surrender themselves in order to go back to the lives they lived before the war erupted. A good performance by Jon and he looks so good in unifrom…but I think we all know that from both MAJOR DAD and of course MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE. This episode included a ten-year-old Jodie Foster as Jon’s daughter Bluebird. I couldn’t help but think of Jon’s real life daughter Rowan when I was watching this. Jon looked so natural with Foster and the hug was so sweet. This is one of Jon’s best performances from early in his career.

A rare treat this time. I have Jon’s appearance from the 60s television program FLIPPER. Here Jon played the part of Jim Lorman, a nefarious bounty hunter who was employed to steal a rare fish from a seaquarium where the series stars including Flipper studied rare undersea life. Jon plays nefarious quite well I think. All this while looking handsome and hot. I think Jon made the most out of what was largely your standard baddie for a kid’s show. It was good to see Jon largely without a shirt and as close as one can get to having him nude. The long shorts looked well on him and it was also good to see Jon doing much of his own swimming. Without further adieu.

Sorry for the lack of updates but there has been a lot of instability in my personal life. I’ve been taking care of my elderly mother as well as some sicknesses in the family. I’m hoping to get back to work on getting more of Jon’s HILL STREET BLUES work up in the gallery, but for now I have his three episodes in the whodunit series MURDER SHE WROTE. Here Jon guested in three different episodes over the series twelve year run. Looking dapper as usual, Jon’s characters included a defense attorney, a shiester attorney and a ship’s captain. No matter his role, Jon certainly makes the most of them and always adds something interesting as well as panache to his performances.

Another example of Jon’s stunning voice. This one gave me chills. Thanks Mr. Cypher for your incredible talent.
I’ve been a busy little bee getting Jon’s HILL STREET BLUES episodes capped and in the gallery. I have season three for you this time. Infamous for Jon’s characteristic Fletcher Daniels bluster and for the episode where poor Daniels had to undergo rabies shots due to having been bitten by a rat (Moon Over Uranus), and my favourite episode Rain of Terror and the scene where Daniels is playing racquet ball when Frank Furrillo (Daniel J. Travanti) comes in and gets reamed by Daniels. I also have a treat of a couple of stills from that episode. Enjoy.
