From 1986, 1989, 1993 :: “Murder She Wrote”

Sorry for the lack of updates but there has been a lot of instability in my personal life. I’ve been taking care of my elderly mother as well as some sicknesses in the family. I’m hoping to get back to work on getting more of Jon’s HILL STREET BLUES work up in the gallery, but for now I have his three episodes in the whodunit series MURDER SHE WROTE. Here Jon guested in three different episodes over the series twelve year run. Looking dapper as usual, Jon’s characters included a defense attorney, a shiester attorney and a ship’s captain. No matter his role, Jon certainly makes the most of them and always adds something interesting as well as panache to his performances.

From 1982-83 :: “Hill Street Blues” Season Three Complete

I’ve been a busy little bee getting Jon’s HILL STREET BLUES episodes capped and in the gallery. I have season three for you this time. Infamous for Jon’s characteristic Fletcher Daniels bluster and for the episode where poor Daniels had to undergo rabies shots due to having been bitten by a rat (Moon Over Uranus), and my favourite episode Rain of Terror and the scene where Daniels is playing racquet ball when Frank Furrillo (Daniel J. Travanti) comes in and gets reamed by Daniels. I also have a treat of a couple of stills from that episode. Enjoy.

From 1981-82 :: “Hill Street Blues” Season Two Complete

I’ve finished Jon’s work from HILL STREET BLUES season two. This was the season where Fletcher Daniels underwent surgery for his piles. Further proof of Jon’s comedic timing that came to bear later on in MAJOR DAD where he starred as Major General Marcus Craig.

From 1981 :: “Hill Street Blues” Season One Complete

I’m finally at the point where I’m screencapping Jon’s work on HILL STREET BLUES where for seven years, he played the pompous Chief-Of-Police Fletcher P. Daniels. I remember when I used to watch this show when it was on the network original airing, I always used to wait for Daniels to show up to make Frank Furillo’s (Daniel J. Travanti) day a complete and utter hell. There was always something Daniels had to bitch about. This is probably where I found Jon. I thought he was so handsome and I loved how he played Daniels with such cockiness, not to forget the weekly strutting. The show was a landmark in the annals of television in the quality of the writing and the ensemble actors that were showcased weekly by the excellence of series creator Steven Bochco, and who can forget the main theme by Mike Post. I used to love the relationship between Furillo and Joyce Davenport (Veronica Hamel). I loved it when she called him “Pizza Man.” Travanti and Hamel were so gorgeous together and I so wanted to look like her. Anyway I’m just so happy to finally be adding Jon’s work in HILL STREET BLUES to the gallery. Please enjoy.
